Job summary

Placements24 in East London is seeking a meticulous Software Tester to join their IT and software quality assurance team. You will design and execute test cases for web and mobile applications, identify defects, and collaborate with developers to resolve issues, ensuring bug-free software delivery across projects in the Eastern Cape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience as a Software Tester or QA Engineer.
• Strong understanding of software testing principles and methodologies.
• Experience with test management tools and bug tracking systems (Jira, TestRail).
• Familiarity with automated testing tools such as Selenium and Cypress.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for web and mobile applications.
• Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, performance, and usability testing.
• Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking systems.
• Collaborate closely with developers and product managers to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.
• Automate test cases where applicable to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
