Job summary

Placements24 in East London is seeking a meticulous QA Engineer to join on-site. You will design and execute detailed test plans, conduct functional, regression, integration, and performance testing, and document defects to ensure software reliability.

You will collaborate with developers and product managers, automate where possible, and help improve QA processes to deliver high‑quality products and a seamless user experience for customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of experience in software quality assurance or testing.
• Proven experience in manual testing of web and/or mobile applications.
• Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr).
• Experience with bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira).
• Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
• Basic knowledge of SQL for data validation is a plus.
• Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress) is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
• Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
• Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking systems.
• Verify bug fixes and perform re‑testing.
• Collaborate with developers and product managers to understand requirements and provide feedback.
• Automate test cases where possible to improve efficiency.
• Participate in requirements analysis and design reviews.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and methodologies.
