Job summary

Placements24 is recruiting a Property Law Associate for a reputable law firm in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. The role covers commercial and residential property matters, from inception through completion, serving a diverse client base including developers, investors and property owners.

The ideal candidate is admitted as an Attorney with at least four years of post-qualification property law experience, including conveyancing and notarial practice.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney with minimum 4 years post-qualification experience in property law.
• Proven conveyancing and notarial practice experience.
• Strong knowledge of Deeds Registries Act, Sectional Titles Act and related property laws.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple transactions and meet deadlines.
• Proficient with conveyancing software and practice management systems.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and teamwork capability.
• Willingness to travel occasionally within the Eastern Cape.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Handle all conveyancing tasks from inception to registration.
• Advise clients on property acquisition, development, leasing and financing.
• Conduct due diligence investigations on property transactions.
• Draft and review commercial and residential lease agreements.
• Manage sectional title schemes and homeowner association matters.
• Coordinate with estate agents, banks and other professionals.
• Ensure compliance with property legislation and regulations in the Eastern Cape.
