Qualifications

• Admitted attorney or advocate with an LLB degree.
• Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience in commercial property law.
• Experience drafting and negotiating commercial leases and sale agreements.
• Strong knowledge of South African property law, conveyancing procedures, and related legislation.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
• Based in Sandton or willing to relocate; hybrid model may apply.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial leases and agreements of lease.
• Assist in the conveyancing of commercial properties, including registration of transfer and bond registration.
• Advise clients on property development matters, including township establishment and sectional title schemes.
• Conduct due diligence investigations for property acquisitions and disposals.
• Provide legal support on property finance transactions, including bond negotiations.
• Liaise with estate agents, developers, financial institutions, and other stakeholders.
• Manage a portfolio of commercial property transactions efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with property laws and regulations.
• Assist with property dispute resolution and litigation where necessary.
• Contribute to the growth and reputation of the property law department in Sandton.
