Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Project Engineer to manage civil infrastructure projects around Pretoria. This hybrid role combines on-site oversight with remote work flexibility, focusing on planning, design, construction, and handover.

The candidate should have a bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or Construction Management and 5+ years of project experience, with strong leadership and stakeholder coordination skills to drive timely completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• At least 5 years of experience in project engineering or project management for civil infrastructure.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, contract administration, and site supervision.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
• Familiarity with South African building codes and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage planning, design, and execution of civil infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, contractors, and clients to ensure project objectives are met.
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Monitor construction activities, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and quality control.
• Prepare progress reports, technical documentation, and manage project close-out procedures.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving any technical or logistical challenges that arise.
