Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Production Supervisor for a George, Western Cape facility in a hybrid on-site/remote role. You will oversee a production team, ensure safety, quality, and on-time output, and collaborate with maintenance, logistics and engineering to optimize throughput.

The ideal candidate has a National Diploma or Bachelor's in Production/Operations management or engineering, at least 4 years in manufacturing supervision, and strong leadership, planning, and ERP-based production

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Production Management, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety procedures.
• Proficiency in production planning and scheduling.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and production reporting tools.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work model, balancing on-site and remote responsibilities.
• A proactive approach to identifying and resolving production issues.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the production floor staff.
• Ensure that production targets are met in terms of quantity, quality, and timelines.
• Implement and enforce all company safety regulations and procedures.
• Monitor production processes, identify inefficiencies, and propose solutions for improvement.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate the performance of production team members.
• Manage the allocation and utilization of materials, equipment, and personnel.
• Maintain accurate production records and generate relevant reports.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure equipment uptime and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Foster a positive and productive work environment, addressing employee concerns promptly.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards and regulations.
