Placements24 is seeking a Logistics Supervisor to oversee port operations in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. You will manage a team of coordinators and warehouse staff, ensuring efficient cargo handling and compliance with shipping and customs procedures.

The role combines hands-on supervision with strategic planning in a hybrid work setting, aiming to optimize workflows and reduce costs across the supply chain.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in port logistics, freight forwarding or supply chain with maritime focus.
• Proven experience supervising teams in logistics/warehouse environments.
• Strong knowledge of port operations, shipping docs and customs procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily port logistics activities including receiving, warehousing and dispatch.
• Coordinate with shipping lines, trucking and customs brokers for timely vessel processing.
• Lead and train logistics coordinators, forklift operators and warehouse staff.
• Ensure compliance with port regulations, safety standards and customs procedures.
• Monitor inventory and storage within the port facility.
• Optimize cargo handling to improve efficiency and reduce turnaround times.
• Resolve operational issues and bottlenecks promptly.
• Maintain records of movements and prepare performance reports.
• Collaborate with other departments for integrated port operations.
• Enforce health and safety protocols within the port environment.
