Job summary

Placements24 in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead critical supply chain optimization initiatives. You will oversee end-to-end projects, from planning to implementation, in a hybrid work setup.

The role requires a strong background in supply chain management, project management methods, and familiarity with WMS/TMS/ERP systems, with PMP being highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• PMP certification is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in supply chain management and/or project management, with a focus on optimization initiatives.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex supply chain projects, including network design, inventory management, and transportation optimization.
• Strong understanding of supply chain principles, best practices, and relevant technologies (e.g., WMS, TMS, ERP systems).
• Experience with data analysis and modeling tools for identifying inefficiencies and quantifying benefits.
• Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment, collaborating with teams both on-site and remotely.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is a plus.
• Proficiency with project management software.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, and delivery of supply chain optimization projects.
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Analyze current supply chain processes, identify areas for improvement, and develop strategic solutions.
• Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure projects are delivered within financial constraints.
• Oversee cross-functional teams, including logistics, warehousing, procurement, and IT specialists.
• Implement new technologies and systems to enhance supply chain visibility, efficiency, and automation.
• Manage project risks and issues, developing and executing mitigation plans.
• Ensure effective communication with all stakeholders, providing regular project updates and performance reports.
• Facilitate training and change management activities to ensure smooth adoption of new processes and systems.
• Monitor project performance post-implementation, ensuring sustained benefits and continuous improvement.
