Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Network Operations Manager to lead our network operations team in Durban. You will oversee daily telecom network activities, ensure stability, performance, and security, and guide engineers and technicians to deliver reliable service across hybrid work environments.

You will coordinate maintenance, incident response, and upgrades, establish procedures, and mentor staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering; advanced degree preferred.
• 7+ years in network operations with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, hardware, and operational best practices.
• Proven experience mentoring technical teams.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools and incident management systems.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of network engineers and technicians.
• Oversee monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecom networks.
• Develop and enforce procedures, policies, and best practices.
• Manage network incident response with timely resolution and stakeholder communication.
• Plan network upgrades, expansions, and hardware/software deployments.
• Ensure network security compliance and threat protection measures.
