Job summary

Placements24 partners with a Stellenbosch-based manufacturing and distribution firm to recruit a highly analytical Logistics and Supply Chain Specialist. The role focuses on optimizing inventory, coordinating transportation, and driving improvements across the supply chain in a hybrid on-site/off-site setup.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years in logistics or supply chain roles, a Bachelor's degree in a related field, and strong experience with ERP/WMS/TMS and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Admin, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management.
• Experience in inventory management, transportation management, and warehousing.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret data and derive insights.
• Proficiency in ERP/WMS/TMS and MS Office.
• Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Hybrid work environment with on-site Stellenbosch responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize supply chain processes including procurement, inventory, warehousing, and transportation.
• Develop and implement logistics strategies to reduce costs across the supply chain.
• Manage relationships with 3PLs, carriers, and suppliers.
• Forecast demand and monitor stock levels to minimize holding costs.
• Coordinate domestic and international movement of goods.
• Prepare detailed reports on supply chain performance and risks.
• Collaborate with sales, production, and procurement teams to ensure seamless operations.
• Implement and manage logistics software and related technologies.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.
• Contribute to strategic planning for supply chain network design and capacity planning.
