Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Logistics Planning Specialist in Stellenbosch to optimize the flow of goods and ensure timely, cost-effective deliveries across multiple supply chains.

The role involves analyzing complex data, developing efficient transport plans, coordinating with carriers and brokers, and ensuring regulatory compliance. A relevant degree plus 4+ years of experience are required, with hybrid on-site/remote work in the Western Cape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, SCM, Business Admin or related field.
• 4+ years in logistics planning, transportation management, or supply chain operations.
• Proven ability to analyse complex logistics data and develop effective solutions.
• Strong understanding of international shipping, customs procedures and trade compliance.
• Proficiency in logistics planning software and ERP systems.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Experience in Stellenbosch or Western Cape is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement optimized logistics and transportation plans for domestic and international shipments.
• Analyze supply chain data to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
• Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders and customs brokers to ensure smooth transit.
• Manage and track shipments, providing timely updates to teams and clients.
• Negotiate rates and terms with providers to achieve cost savings.
• Ensure compliance with trade regulations and documentation requirements.
• Utilize logistics software to plan, monitor, and report transportation activities.
• Collaborate with sales, operations and customer service to meet delivery expectations.
• Identify and resolve potential issues before they impact schedules.
