Placements24 seeks a Lead Power Systems Engineer in Cape Town to spearhead design, implementation, and commissioning of large-scale renewable energy projects in a hybrid work setting. You will model and validate complex power system designs, oversee grid interconnection studies, and mentor a team of engineers while ensuring safety, codes, and environmental policies are met.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a Power Systems specialization is required.
• 10+ years in power systems engineering, with renewables or utility-scale experience.
• Proficiency with power system analysis software (PSS/E, ETAP, PSCAD).

Responsabilités

• Oversee lifecycle of power system projects from concept to commissioning.
• Develop and validate complex power system models and simulations.
• Lead grid interconnection studies, load flow, short-circuit, and stability analyses.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and regulators to define scope and deliverables.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of power systems engineers.
• Conduct site visits and technical reviews as required.
• Contribute to innovative power solutions within the domain.
