Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Project Lead to drive major infrastructure development initiatives in George, Western Cape. The role blends strategic planning with on-site oversight, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years in infrastructure project management, a Civil Engineering background, and a PMP or equivalent certification.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive experience in project management within infrastructure/construction.
• Experience managing large-scale projects with complex dependencies.
• Solid understanding of engineering principles, building codes, and construction methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Experience working in a hybrid model balancing remote and on-site work.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Professional certification such as PMP is a plus.
• Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage the planning, execution, and closing of infrastructure development projects, from conception to completion.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external contractors, and regulatory bodies for alignment and compliance.
• Develop detailed project schedules, resource plans, and budgets; monitor progress against plans.
• Identify, assess, and manage project risks; implement mitigation strategies.
• Facilitate regular project status meetings and provide reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations and quality control standards throughout all phases.
• Manage procurement processes and vendor performance for optimal outcomes.
• Resolve project issues and conflicts promptly and efficiently.
