Placements24 in Polokwane is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and optimize HVAC systems for commercial and industrial projects. This hybrid role blends on-site collaboration at our Limpopo headquarters with flexible remote work, covering load calculations, system design, equipment selection, and technical support during installation.

You will work with architects and project managers, perform energy modeling, and ensure compliance with SANS and ASHRAE standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in HVAC system design and engineering.
• Proficiency in HVAC design software (AutoCAD MEP, Revit MEP, HAP, Trace 700).
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, psychrometrics and fluid dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop HVAC system layouts, schematics, and specifications for commercial/industrial projects.
• Perform load calculations, energy modeling, and system performance analyses.
• Select HVAC equipment (chillers, boilers, AHUs) per project requirements.
• Collaborate with architects, structural engineers and project managers for seamless integration.
• Create and review CAD drawings and construction documents.
• Conduct site visits for design verification and troubleshooting.
• Ensure designs comply with codes and energy efficiency standards.
• Provide technical support to installation teams and clients.
