Placements24 in Vereeniging is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our team. This role manages the general ledger, financial reporting, and compliance, with a hybrid work model blending office collaboration in Gauteng with productive remote work.

You will ensure IFRS-compliant statements, support budgets and forecasts, and assist audits. The successful candidate has a accounting degree, 3–5 years of experience, IFRS fluency, and strong Excel, Sage and Xero proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification.
• 3–5 years of financial accounting experience.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and Excel proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations including payables, receivables, and payroll.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual IFRS-compliant financial statements.
• Perform general ledger reconciliations and ensure data accuracy.
• Assist in budgets and financial forecasts.
• Support audits with documentation and explanations.
• Maintain internal controls to improve reporting integrity.
