Placements24 is seeking a Lead Film Production Coordinator in Cape Town. The role combines in-office collaboration with remote flexibility to oversee production from pre- to post-production, ensuring schedules, budgets, and resources are managed with precision.

You will coordinate with directors, producers, and department heads, develop schedules, and manage vendor relations to deliver high-profile projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in film production coordination or management, with at least 4 years in a leading role.
• Strong understanding of film production processes, from pre-production to post-production.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency in production scheduling software and project management tools.
• Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• A degree in Film Production, Media Studies, or a related field is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all logistical aspects of film production, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate with directors, producers, department heads, and crew to ensure seamless project execution.
• Develop and maintain detailed production schedules, tracking progress and identifying potential roadblocks.
• Source and secure necessary equipment, locations, and personnel, negotiating favorable terms where applicable.
• Manage production paperwork, including call sheets, production reports, and clearance forms.
• Liaise with external vendors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
• Assist in managing the production budget, tracking expenditures, and reporting on financial status.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and legal regulations on set.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior production staff.
