Job summary

Placements24 seeks a highly skilled Field Maintenance Engineer in Stellenbosch to support critical infrastructure on a hybrid basis. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain complex mechanical, electrical, and control systems with on-site presence and remote reporting.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, proven field maintenance experience, proficiency with diagnostic tools and CMMS, strong problem-solving and communication, and the ability to work independently in a hybrid

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in field maintenance or service engineering.
• Strong understanding of mechanics, electronics, and control systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and CMMS.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site inspections, diagnostics and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Develop and execute preventative and predictive maintenance plans.
• Analyze equipment data and implement reliability improvements.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with clients and internal teams remotely and in person.
• Document maintenance activities, parts used, and future recommendations.
