Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Field Development Geoscientist for Mossel Bay to optimize hydrocarbon field exploitation. You will integrate geological, seismic, and engineering data to build subsurface models and define development strategies.

Responsibilities include reservoir characterization, static and dynamic modeling, and collaboration with engineers and geologists to maximize asset value. Hybrid work arrangement supports on-site collaboration and focused remote work.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geology, Geophysics, or related Earth Science discipline.
• 7+ years of relevant field development geoscience experience.
• Proven experience in integrated reservoir characterization and subsurface modeling.
• Proficiency in Petrel and GeoGraphix.
• Strong knowledge of seismic interpretation, sequence stratigraphy, and reservoir modeling techniques.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update integrated subsurface models for producing fields.
• Analyze seismic data, well logs, core data, and production information.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers to define well targets and field development plans.
• Evaluate opportunities for incremental recovery and infill drilling.
• Perform static and dynamic geological modeling and uncertainty analysis.
• Utilize geological and geophysical software for data interpretation and visualization.
• Contribute geological insights to field development studies and project planning.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal review and decision-making.
