Qualificações

• Master's degree in Geology, Geophysics, or related Earth Science discipline.
• 7+ years of relevant field development geoscience experience.
• Proven experience in integrated reservoir characterization and subsurface modeling.
• Proficiency in Petrel and GeoGraphix.
• Strong knowledge of seismic interpretation, sequence stratigraphy, and reservoir modeling techniques.

About the Role

Our client, a prominent entity in the Oil & Gas industry , is seeking an experienced Field Development Geoscientist to join their esteemed team in Mossel Bay, Western Cape . This vital role focuses on optimizing the understanding and exploitation of discovered hydrocarbon fields. The successful candidate will integrate geological, geophysical, and engineering data to build robust subsurface models, define development strategies, and assess remaining potential. You will play a key part in maximizing the economic value of our client's assets through meticulous analysis and collaborative decision-making. This position offers a hybrid working arrangement, enabling a blend of on-site collaboration and focused remote work, supporting both team synergy and individual productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and update integrated subsurface models for producing fields.
• Analyze seismic data, well logs, core data, and production information to characterize reservoirs.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers to define well targets and optimal field development plans.
• Evaluate opportunities for incremental recovery and infill drilling.
• Perform static and dynamic geological modeling and uncertainty analysis.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geology, Geophysics, or a related Earth Science discipline.
• A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in field development geoscience, preferably within the Oil & Gas sector .
• Proven experience in integrated reservoir characterization and subsurface modeling.
• Proficiency in industry-standard geological and geophysical interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, GeoGraphix).
• Strong understanding of seismic interpretation, sequence stratigraphy, and reservoir modeling techniques.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and critical thinking capabilities.
• Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Experience within the Western Cape operational context is a plus.
• Must be legally authorized to work in South Africa .
