Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a specialized Purchasing Specialist in Centurion, Gauteng, ZA to manage procurement of electrical equipment and materials for large-scale projects.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years in technical procurement, strong electrical knowledge, and proven negotiation skills. This hybrid role requires coordination with engineering and site teams and attendance at the Centurion office as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, SCM, or related field.
• 2–4 years of purchasing/procurement experience with electrical/technical components.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and industry standards.
• Proven negotiation skills and supplier relationship management.
• Proficiency in MS Office and ERP or procurement management systems.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration in a hybrid setting.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specs and drawings.
• Must be able to attend Centurion office as required by hybrid policy.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure electrical equipment, components, and materials.
• Identify and evaluate qualified suppliers ensuring technical specs compliance.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and warranties.
• Prepare and manage purchase orders with accuracy.
• Track orders and coordinate logistics to project sites.
• Liaise with engineering, project management, and site teams.
• Maintain a database of approved electrical suppliers and performance.
• Monitor market trends for cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure procurement adheres to policies and safety/regulatory standards.
