Placements24 is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager in Sandton, Gauteng. The role oversees electrical installations across commercial, industrial, and residential developments, from conception to handover, with hybrid work and on-site oversight.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in electrical project management, strong leadership, and proficiency in MS Project/Primavera. You will manage budgets, timelines, and stakeholders while ensuring safety and compliance across diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required; PMP certification is a strong asset.
• Minimum 8 years of experience managing electrical projects, with leadership experience.
• Proven experience in tendering, contract negotiation, and cost control.
• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, construction methods, and project management software (MS Project, Primavera).
• Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations within construction.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex electrical drawings and specifications.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage electrical construction projects from initiation to completion.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, budgets, timelines, and resource allocation.
• Oversee project execution, ensuring adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Manage project costs, track expenditures, and implement change control procedures.
• Coordinate with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project operations.
• Conduct site inspections, progress meetings, and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical codes, standards, and permitting requirements.
• Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Resolve project issues and conflicts in a timely and effective manner.
• Manage the commissioning and handover process, ensuring client satisfaction.
