Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer for our East London facility. The role combines hands-on on-site maintenance with remote planning and analysis to ensure reliable electrical systems across industrial facilities.

You will troubleshoot, repair, and optimize motors, drives, PLCs, HMI systems, and switchgear, while developing maintenance schedules and ensuring safety compliance.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance, preferably within a manufacturing or processing environment.
• Strong practical knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motor control, power distribution, and PLC/HMI troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and technical diagrams.
• Experience with VFDs, servo systems, and industrial automation components.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance on a wide range of industrial electrical equipment, including motors, drives, PLCs, HMI systems, and switchgear.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical faults and failures, implementing effective repair solutions to restore functionality.
• Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement in reliability and efficiency.
• Develop and execute maintenance schedules and procedures, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Manage spare parts inventory for electrical components and equipment.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime during maintenance activities.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new electrical equipment and control systems.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
