Job summary

Placements24 in Durban seeks an Electrical Engineering Technician to join our energy facilities team. You will support maintenance, installation, and testing of electrical systems, troubleshoot complex issues, and contribute to safety and efficiency in the energy sector.

Hybrid work arrangement is offered. A National Diploma in Electrical Engineering and at least 3 years' industrial experience are required, with travel within the region and a strong eye for detail.

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (N3 or higher) required.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in industrial or power generation environments.
• Strong knowledge of electrical schematics, PLCs, and instrumentation.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the region.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on electrical systems and equipment.
• Assist engineers with the installation and commissioning of new electrical plant and machinery.
• Conduct electrical testing and diagnostics to identify faults and performance issues.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, test results, and equipment history.
• Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and procedures, including lockout/tagout protocols.
• Support the implementation of electrical system upgrades and modifications.
