Placements24 is seeking a skilled Drilling Engineer to plan, execute, and supervise drilling operations from our Centurion office. The role offers a hybrid schedule with on-site collaboration and remote work flexibility, focusing on safety, efficiency, and cost control.

You will design drilling programs, select fluids and equipment, and manage risks while leading a team and coordinating with service providers. A strong technical background and commitment to excellence are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Strong 7+ years' drilling engineering experience in Oil & Gas.
• Proven well design, drilling operations, and rig management experience.
• Proficiency with drilling simulation software and related tools.
• Solid understanding of well control principles and practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive drilling programs and operational plans.
• Select drilling fluids, equipment, and techniques for various formations.
• Perform drilling hydraulics, cement design, and directional drilling calculations.
• Identify and mitigate drilling hazards and risks, developing contingency plans.
• Supervise drilling operations, ensuring safety and environmental standards.
• Manage drilling service providers and contractors effectively.
• Analyze drilling performance data and implement improvements.
• Prepare daily drilling reports and end‑of‑well reports.
• Stay updated on new drilling technologies and industry best practices.
