You will advise executive leadership on mergers, complex contracts, and governance matters; draft agreements; oversee external counsel; and mentor business units on legal risk and policy development.

Qualifications

Admitted Attorney with relevant corporate law expertise.
Experience advising on complex corporate transactions and commercial agreements.
Strong understanding of SA corporate law, governance, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Advise senior management on corporate and commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and governance.
Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial contracts and partnerships.
Manage and mitigate legal risks across operations and business strategies.
Ensure compliance with laws including company, contract, and employment law.
Oversee litigation matters with external counsel when needed.
Develop and implement internal policies to ensure compliance and best practices.
Provide legal training to business units and stakeholders.
Conduct due diligence for significant transactions.
Stay updated on legislative changes affecting operations.
