Qualifications

• Experience in community work, social services, or related field.
• Strong understanding of Stellenbosch community and diverse needs.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and networking skills.
• Ability to engage effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Organized and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable working in a hybrid model, involving both office/field work and remote tasks.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications and willingness to learn new platforms.
• A genuine passion for Community & Social Care and a commitment to social justice.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends for events.
• Valid driver's license and access to reliable transport are preferred for Western Cape travel.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and execute community outreach activities and events in and around Stellenbosch.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with community members, local leaders, and partner organizations.
• Identify community needs and promote awareness of available social support services.
• Conduct needs assessments and refer individuals to appropriate resources and programs.
• Develop and distribute informational materials about services and events.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery to referred clients.
• Assist with volunteer recruitment and coordination for outreach initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, contacts, and outcomes.
• Participate in team meetings, providing feedback and insights from community engagement.
• Contribute to the development of outreach strategies, adapting to feedback from the Western Cape community.
• Represent the organization professionally at community functions and meetings.
