Placements24 in Welkom is seeking a dedicated Claims Handler to join its established team. In this role, you will process and manage a portfolio of insurance claims, liaising with policyholders and ensuring timely settlements while upholding company protocols.

The successful candidate will have experience in claims handling within the insurance industry, strong policy knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and proficiency with claims management software.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in claims handling or a related role within the insurance industry is essential.
• Strong understanding of insurance policies and claims procedures.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficiency in using claims management software and general office applications.

Responsibilities

• Receive, record, and acknowledge new insurance claims in a timely manner.
• Investigate claim details, gather necessary documentation, and verify policy coverage.
• Communicate claim status updates and requirements to policyholders and relevant parties.
• Assess the quantum of loss and negotiate settlements within approved guidelines.
• Identify fraudulent claims and escalate for further investigation as per procedure.
• Maintain accurate and organized claim files and records in the system.
