Placements24 is seeking a Chemical Process Engineer for our Vereeniging facility. The role combines on-site process supervision with remote analysis, focusing on improving yield, safety, and efficiency across production lines.

You will monitor plant data, troubleshoot issues, develop improvements, and participate in PHAs, with emphasis on documentation, SOPs, and collaboration with maintenance, quality, and production teams.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering required.
• 3–5 years of chemical process engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Strong grasp of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and mass transfer.
• Experience with process monitoring, data analysis and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of PSM concepts and process safety.
• Familiarity with P&IDs and engineering drawings.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Hybrid work environment experience preferred.
• Proficiency in standard office software; experience with process simulation software is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Monitor and analyze plant performance data to identify process improvements.
• Troubleshoot process issues and implement effective solutions to reduce downtime and improve quality.
• Develop and execute process improvements to increase efficiency and yield.
• Participate in PHAs and implement safety measures.
• Prepare technical reports and project updates.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance and quality teams to meet objectives.
• Support commissioning and startup of new equipment or modifications.
• Maintain process documentation including P&IDs and SOPs.
• Assist in developing and implementing process control strategies.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations.
