Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Automotive Electronics Engineer in Soweto, Gauteng. The role combines on-site lab work for hardware development with remote tasks such as simulation, data analysis, and documentation.

You will design ECUs, integrate sensors, and develop embedded software to enhance vehicle performance and safety. The position requires a Bachelor's or Master’s in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, hands-on experience in automotive electronics, and strong C/C++ skills.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• Proven experience in automotive electronics design and development.
• Strong knowledge of embedded systems and programming (C/C++).
• Familiarity with CAN/LIN/FlexRay and automotive safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop ECUs and embedded electronics for automotive applications.
• Perform hardware testing, debugging, and validation using lab equipment.
• Develop and optimize firmware for microcontrollers and ECUs.
• Integrate electronic systems with other vehicle components and software.
• Collaborate with software, mechanical engineers, and system architects.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and firmware issues.
• Document designs, test procedures, and results thoroughly.
• Stay current with trends in automotive electronics.
