Placements24 is assisting a dynamic game development studio in Benoni to find a talented 3D Environment Artist. This hybrid role blends hands-on asset creation with collaborative studio work and remote flexibility.

You will craft high-quality environments and props, optimize them for performance, and work with art directors, designers, and lighting artists to realize immersive worlds. Candidates should showcase a strong portfolio of game environments, be proficient in Maya/3ds Max or Blender,

Qualifications

• Proven background as a 3D Environment Artist with a portfolio of game environments.
• Proficiency in 3D modelling software (Maya, 3ds Max or Blender).
• Experience with texturing tools (Substance Painter, Photoshop, Quixel Mixer).
• Familiarity with Unreal Engine or Unity.
• Strong understanding of form, color, lighting and composition.
• Ability to create efficient UV layouts and PBR textures.
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a team.

Responsabilités

• Model, texture, and integrate 3D environment assets for game levels.
• Create realistic and stylized props, structures, foliage, and terrain per art direction.
• Optimize assets for performance and memory use.
• Collaborate with level designers to define layout and atmosphere.
• Work with lighting artists to enhance mood and realism.
• Maintain consistency with established art style and project requirements.
• Contribute to environment art pipelines and workflows.
