Estimated Remuneration: R500 - R700k CTC PA based on the discretion of the client according to each candidates background and experience.

As the Site HR Manager (Mining industry) you will be responsible for managing the full human resources lifecycle for a specific mining sites.

Given the high-risk and remote nature of mining, this role prioritizes safety compliance, labor relations in unionized environments, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Planning: Align HR strategies with site-specific operational goals and organizational growth.
• Labor & Industrial Relations: Manage relationships with unions, handle conflict resolution, and ensure compliance with site-specific labor laws and collective bargaining agreements.
• Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning: Oversee end-to-end recruitment to ensure the site has a steady pipeline of skilled labor and management.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure all HR activities adhere to mining-specific safety regulations and national labor legislation.
• Training & Development: Identify site skill gaps and manage training programs, including mandatory safety inductions and technical upskilling.
• Compensation & Benefits: Manage site-specific payroll inputs, benefits administration, and housing/village management where applicable.
• Community & Social Responsibility: Lead social labor initiatives and community engagement efforts aligned with corporate and local regulatory goals.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: A relevant tertiary qualification (Bachelor's degree or Diploma) in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or Industrial Psychology.
• Experience: Minimum 5–10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years specifically within the mining or natural resources sector.
• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of industry-specific labor laws (e.g., CCMA in South Africa or equivalent regional bodies).
• Expertise in managing multi-union environments.
• Proficiency in HR Information Systems (HRIS) and payroll software.
• Attributes: High level of resilience, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in fast-paced, often remote mining environments.
