Job summary

De Jagers Uitrusters in Worcester, Western Cape, is seeking a Development Officer – Human Resources to build and enhance employee experiences in our retail-sales–driven environment by driving Learning & Development, Recruitment & Selection and Induction & Evaluation activities.

You will report to the HR Manager and focus on end-to-end delivery of L&D initiatives, support recruitment lifecycle, and ensure effective induction and ongoing performance evaluation of team members.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in HR, Business, Training, L&D or related field.
• Passion for knowledge & skills development and performance improvement.
• Strong communication skills in English and Afrikaans.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end Learning & Development initiatives across the business.
• Oversee Recruitment & Selection across vacancy boards, shortlisting, onboarding.
• Coordinate Induction and Evaluation programmes to ensure early and ongoing success.

DEVELOPMENT OFFICER – HUMAN RESOURCES

We are on the search for an HR enthusiast to build and enhance employee experiences in our retail-sales-driven environment by driving Learning & Development, Recruitment & Selection and Induction & Evaluation activities to further improve our organisational capability.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the HR Manager, you will primarily be focussed on end-to-end delivery of all Learning & Development initiatives; be involved in the Recruitment & Selection functions; as well as the Induction of new starters and Evaluation of all team members.

• Learning & Development: identify training needs, maintain job designs, implement and deliver learning content and programmes across our business from salespersons to administrative staff.
• Recruitment & Selection: ensure best practice for the full recruitment lifecycle: vacancy boards, selection (think best quality candidates & cultural fit) and onboarding.
• Induction & Evaluation: maintain and continuously improve induction and performance evaluation programmes tailored to ensure early and maintained success of new and current team members.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

1. Passion for knowledge & skills development; performance improvement and building great teams
2. Relevant tertiary qualification in HR, Business, Training, L&D or related field / experience
3. Strong communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills preferably in English and Afrikaans
4. Intermediate computer skills – experience using ATS & information systems; modern sourcing and applicable online tools
5. Hands-on approach and natural aptitude to utilise technology and various learning techniques; ensure quality training messages consistently across all branches
6. Practical experience in performance management, planning and reviews
7. Practical field sales experience and understanding of sales environments (desirable)
