Placements24 is seeking a dedicated HSE Officer to join our client’s team in Benoni, Gauteng. The role ensures Health, Safety and Environmental standards across project sites and promotes a strong safety culture.

Requirements include a Diploma or Bachelor’s in OHS or related field, 4+ years’ experience, SA NOSA/NEBOSH/SAMTRAC certification, and knowledge of the OHS Act. Excellent communication and ability to manage multiple priorities are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelors in OHS, Environmental Science or related field.
• Minimum 4 years as HSE Officer in energy or construction.
• Knowledge of SA HSE legislation (OHS Act, Environmental Conservation Act).
• Certifications such as NOSA, NEBOSH or SAMTRAC are advantageous.
• Experience with risk assessment and incident investigations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement site-specific HSE plans and procedures.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with HSE regulations and policies.
• Identify potential hazards and risks; recommend controls.

Our client, a major contractor involved in significant infrastructure and energy projects, is seeking a dedicated and proactive HSE Officer to join their team in Benoni, Gauteng . This role is crucial for ensuring the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Environmental protection are maintained across all project sites and operations. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of HSE regulations and best practices within the construction and energy sectors. You will be responsible for implementing HSE policies, conducting site inspections, identifying potential hazards, and promoting a strong safety culture among all personnel. The Benoni location serves as a key operational base for numerous projects in the Gauteng province. Key Responsibilities

• Experience with risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety management systems.
• Strong observational and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
