Job summary

TotalEnergies Renewables Southern Africa is seeking a seasoned HSE professional to lead health, safety and environmental governance across wind, solar PV, BESS, and related infrastructure. You will ensure compliance with ISO standards, manage contractor HSE plans, and report to SPV governance, driving continuous improvement in a high-visibility, multinational project environment.

The role requires 7+ years in HSE, a relevant degree or diploma; SACPCMP qualification is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Safety Management or Environmental field; SACPCMP advantage.
• 7+ years HSE experience in renewables or industrial operations.
• Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
• Experience with Wind, Solar PV, BESS and substations is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall HSE and Environmental & Sustainability oversight across SPV assets, including Wind, Solar PV, BESS and associated infrastructure.
• Review, draft, and ensure the implementation of Contractors and the Project Company HSE plans in compliance with company rules and local/international standards.
• Ensure reporting on HSE matters is accurate and timely.
• Coordinate legal compliance, permit obligations and company HSE requirements.
• Lead implementation and continual improvement of the HSE Management System.
• Provide contractor assurance through audits, inspections, reviews and performance monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, sustainability and lender requirements.
• Lead incident investigations, audit activities and corrective action management.
• Monitor operational risks and escalate significant HSE concerns to management.
• Act as the SPV focal point for One Maestro governance, reporting and action management.
• Prepare and present HSE reports to management and SPV governance structures.
• Support emergency preparedness, operational readiness and management of change activities.
