Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to support Oil & Gas operations in Polokwane. You will promote a safe working environment, develop and implement HSE policies, conduct compliance monitoring, and support site personnel with risk assessments and incident investigations.

The ideal candidate holds a Diploma or Bachelors in Occupational Health and Safety, minimum 4 years in HSE, has SA legislation knowledge, and NEBOSH or equivalent certification is highly regarded.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's in OHS or related field.
• Minimum 4 years in HSE in Oil & Gas or similar heavy industry.
• In-depth knowledge of South African HSE legislation and best practices.
• Experience with incident investigation techniques and risk management tools.
• NEBOSH or equivalent certification is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies and procedures across operational sites.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with HSE regulations and standards.
• Perform risk assessments and hazard identification, recommending control measures.
• Investigate all accidents, incidents, and near misses, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions.
• Provide HSE training and awareness programs to employees and contractors.
• Maintain HSE records and prepare regular reports for management.
