Takealot.com, South Africa's leading online retailer, seeks an HR intern to join the Johannesburg Distribution Centre. The role focuses on HR administration, onboarding, payroll tasks, and supporting employee queries in a fast-paced environment.

The 18-month contract offers exposure to HR functions, recruitment, training, and labour relations, with opportunities to learn from market leaders and work across multiple HR systems.

Qualifications

• N6 in Human Resource is required.
• Excellent MS Office skills and accuracy are essential.
• Strong data capture and administration skills.
• Knowledge of SA labour legislation (BCEA, LRA, EEA) is beneficial.
• Understanding of HR functions: recruitment, training, benefits, labour relations.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills are important.
• Good organisational and time management abilities.
• Ability to handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Filing and HR administration including preparation of HR documents and labour broker change forms.
• Manage onboarding process for new staff.
• Support HR and business with employee queries.
• HR Systems administration (Axio, Intranet, The hub, Greenhouse).
• Payroll administration tasks (UI-19, COE, IRP5 etc).
• Draft HR communications for new starters.
• Assist with CCMA cases.
• Support HR projects.

N6 in Human Resource

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Strong data capturing and administration skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Knowledge of applicable SA labour legislation (BCEA, LRA, EEA)
• Understanding of HR functions: recruitment, training, benefits, labour relations
