Job summary

Crowe DNA Pty is seeking a practical and organised HR Generalist in Sandton with 1–3 years of experience to support day-to-day HR delivery. You will cover the employee lifecycle—from onboarding to performance management—while ensuring policy compliance and accurate Zoho People records.

Qualifications

• A relevant diploma or degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Labour Relations or a related field.
• Between one and three years’ practical HR generalist or HR officer experience.
• Practical experience using Zoho People is required.
• Previous experience supporting employee-relations and disciplinary processes is required.
• Working knowledge of South African labour legislation, including the BCEA, LRA, EEA and POPIA.
• Experience with HR administration, recruitment, onboarding and employee record management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
• Able to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
• Confident in communicating with employees and managers at different levels.
• Able to work independently, prioritise tasks and follow matters through to completion.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
• A gross monthly salary of R19,500.
• Broad, hands-on exposure across the full employee lifecycle.

• Experience working with and administering Zoho People.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate employee records, documentation and information on Zoho People.
• Administer employee onboarding, probation, transfers and exits.
• Prepare employment contracts, letters, notices and other HR documentation.
• Monitor leave, attendance, absenteeism and employee documentation.
• Support recruitment, including advertising vacancies, screening applications, arranging interviews and completing reference checks.
• Provide employees and managers with guidance on HR policies and procedures.
• Support disciplinary and grievance processes, including investigations, documentation, notices and meeting minutes.
• Identify employee-relations concerns and escalate complex IR matters appropriately.
• Assist with performance reviews, probation reviews and performance-improvement processes.
• Maintain confidential and legally compliant employee files.
• Prepare regular HR reports and follow up on outstanding HR actions.
• Assist with employee communication, training coordination and general HR projects.
• Ensure HR practices are aligned with company policies and relevant South African labour legislation.
