Job summary

Headhunters seeks an experienced HR professional to support industrial relations and HR operations in a manufacturing environment. You will help resolve disputes, ensure legal compliance, and maintain disciplinary records while developing policies and training programs.

Key tasks include policy development, recruitment support, contract reviews, and incident investigations, with a focus on fair processes and timely reporting. A Level 6 HR qualification and 8+ years in manufacturing are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Level 6 qualification in HR Management or Labour Law.
  • At least 8 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • At least 5 years’ experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with SQube, Payspace, SQube time and attendance, BCX HRIS.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in resolving disputes between management and employees or unions and guide on dispute resolution procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws, policies, and procedures, and maintain records of disciplinary hearings, grievances, warnings and other industrial relations matters.
  • Ensure disciplinary hearings are conducted fairly and timeously, and maintain consistency in IR matters.
  • Develop and implement HR policies to align with changes in labour relations law and market developments.
  • Deliver training for management and employees on HR topics.
  • Research labour market trends and collective bargaining agreements to keep IR practices current.
  • Support employees and line management with HR processes and queries.
  • Assist with absenteeism policy enforcement, engagement and reporting.
  • Ensure monthly reporting is completed accurately and on time.
  • Assist with recruitment and inductions for IR topics.
  • Support incident investigations across departments with fair processes.
  • Review employment contracts annually.
  • Assist HR Manager in other areas aligned to departmental objectives.

Job description

Requirements:

  • Have at least 5 years’ working experience on all the MS Office packages i.e. Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • SQube biometric system.
  • Experience with Payspace, SQube time and attendance, BCX HRIS.

  • Ensuring that the organization complies with labour laws, policies, and procedures, and maintain accurate records of all disciplinary hearings, grievances, warnings and other industrial related matters.
  • Ensure that all disciplinary hearings are conducted timeously in a procedurally and substantively fair manner.
  • Ensure consistency in all IR matters.
  • Developing and implementing HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with external changes and new developments in the labour relations market.
  • Developing and delivering training for management and employees on HR related topics.
  • Conducting research and analysis on labour market trends, collective bargaining agreements, and other industrial relations issues to ensure that all Industrial relations conducted at the Company are relevant to current legislation.
  • Assist all employees and line management with HR related processes and queries.
  • Assist in ensuring the absenteeism policy is adhered to with consistent discipline, employee engagement and reporting.
  • Ensure that all monthly reporting is done timeously and efficiently.
  • Assist with recruitment and selection as and when required.
  • Assist with the induction process for all IR related subject matter.
  • Assist all Management/Supervisor with incident investigation by ensuring that all departments are following a fair and consistent process when conducting their own incident investigation.
  • Reviewing of all employment contracts annually.
  • Supporting the HR Manager in all areas deemed appropriate and in accordance too departmental objectives.
