Job summary

Hospitality Hire is seeking a Housekeeping Manager/Senior Supervisor to join a client’s team on a 6-month contract. You will lead a large housekeeping operation in a busy 4- or 5-star hotel, ensuring rooms and public areas meet top cleanliness standards and staffing is optimally scheduled.

Available to start immediately, you will coach and supervise staff, conduct regular inspections, and collaborate with Front Office, Maintenance and Laundry to ensure timely room readiness and exceptional guest

Qualifications

• Matric certificate; hospitality or housekeeping qualification advantageous.
• Proven experience as Housekeeping Manager, Assistant Housekeeping Manager, Executive Housekeeper, or Senior Housekeeping Supervisor.
• Experience in a high-volume 4- or 5-star hotel environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily hotel housekeeping operations.
• Ensure guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house meet cleanliness standards.
• Manage housekeeping operations across a high volume of occupied and departing rooms.
• Conduct regular room inspections and release rooms to required standards.
• Allocate daily duties and monitor room attendant productivity and performance.
• Coaching, guiding and supporting housekeeping team members to maintain standards.
• Coordinate room priorities, arrivals, departures and VIP rooms.
• Monitor linen, amenities and housekeeping stock levels.
• Ensure SOPs, hygiene and health and safety requirements are followed.

Hospitality Hire is recruiting a Housekeeping Manager or Senior Housekeeping Supervisor to join our clients team on a 6-month contract with immediate effect . We need someone who understands the pace and standards of a busy 4-star or 5-star hotel, has experience working with a high volume of rooms, and can confidently lead and support a busy housekeeping operation. Candidates must be available to start immediately. If you are hands-on, highly organised, passionate about hotel cleanliness and presentation, and comfortable leading a large housekeeping team in a demanding environment, this opportunity could be for you.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric Certificate (Grade 12)
• Hospitality or Housekeeping qualification advantageous
• Proven experience as a Housekeeping Manager, Assistant Housekeeping Manager, Executive Housekeeper, or Senior Housekeeping Supervisor
• Strong working experience within a 4-star or 5-star hotel environment essential
• Previous experience managing or supervising housekeeping operations in a high-volume hotel with a large number of rooms essential
• Strong knowledge of hotel housekeeping standards, room inspections, cleaning procedures, and SOPs
• Proven experience supervising and motivating housekeeping teams
• Experience with staff rostering, daily room allocations, productivity, and operational planning
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain consistently high standards
• Good computer literacy and administrative skills
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced hotel environment
• Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
• Professional grooming and presentation
• Must be available to start immediately
• Must be available for the full 6-month contract period

What You’ll Be Doing

• Leading and supervising daily hotel housekeeping operations
• Ensuring guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas consistently meet hotel cleanliness and presentation standards
• Managing housekeeping operations across a high volume of occupied and departing rooms
• Conducting regular room inspections and ensuring rooms are released according to required standards
• Allocating daily duties and monitoring room attendant productivity and performance
• Coordinating room priorities, arrivals, departures, VIP rooms, and special guest requirements
• Managing staff rosters, attendance, daily briefings, and operational requirements
• Coaching, guiding, and supporting housekeeping team members to maintain consistent standards
• Identifying maintenance issues and ensuring these are reported and followed up promptly
• Monitoring linen, amenities, guest supplies, and housekeeping stock levels
• Ensuring housekeeping SOPs, hygiene standards, health and safety requirements, and hotel procedures are followed
• Handling guest-related housekeeping concerns professionally and efficiently
• Working closely with Front Office, Maintenance, Laundry, and other hotel departments to ensure rooms are ready on time
• Supporting management with housekeeping administration, reporting, and operational planning
• Maintaining exceptional attention to detail while ensuring the department operates efficiently during high occupancy periods
• Leading by example and supporting the team wherever needed to ensure a consistently exceptional guest experience
