About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Hotel General Manager to lead their flagship property in the coastal city of Durban . This senior leadership position requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in hotel operations, financial management, and delivering outstanding guest experiences. You will be responsible for the overall success of the hotel, driving revenue growth, managing operational efficiency, and ensuring the highest standards of service across all departments. This is a critical role for a seasoned hospitality professional looking to shape the future of a prominent hotel in KwaZulu-Natal .

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all hotel operations, including front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, sales, and maintenance, ensuring seamless integration and efficiency.
• Develop and implement strategic business plans to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
• Manage the hotel's budget, P&L statements, and financial forecasts, identifying cost-saving opportunities and revenue enhancement strategies.
• Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team of department heads and staff.
• Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction by upholding service standards and resolving complex guest issues effectively.
• Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, local authorities, and the wider community in Durban .

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Hotel General Manager role or a senior management position (e.g., Hotel Manager, Operations Director).
• Demonstrated success in driving hotel performance, revenue generation, and profitability.
• Strong financial acumen, with expertise in budgeting, P&L analysis, and revenue management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of hotel operations, industry trends, and best practices.
• A degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is highly preferred for this role in South Africa .
