Job summary

Bright Placements is seeking a Breakfast Chef to lead high-quality breakfast preparation in a hotel, lodge, or resort kitchen in South Africa. You will manage mise en place, eggs to order, and breakfast service while maintaining HACCP compliance and engaging with the wider kitchen team.

We require 2–3 years of breakfast chef experience, a culinary qualification preferred, and strong organisational skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment with early starts.

Qualifications

• Matric (Grade 12) is required or preferred.
• Culinary qualification from a recognised institution is preferred.
• Food Safety/HACCP certification is desirable.
• First Aid certification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a wide variety of breakfast dishes to high quality standards.
• Manage breakfast buffet preparation, replenishment and presentation.
• Prepare eggs to order using various techniques.
• Ensure breakfast service is timely and efficient.
• Support lunch and dinner prep when required.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the breakfast section.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with receiving deliveries.
