Job summary

The Capital offers an exciting Reservations role within our hospitality group in Sandton. You will respond to communications from guests, travel agents, groups and referrals arriving by mail, phone, fax or central system, and coordinate all reservations.

Ideal candidates have Matric, Hospitality Management or similar, at least 2 years’ experience as a Reservationist, strong MS Office skills, typing 60 wpm, and experience with a hotel Property Management System.

Qualifications

• Matric
• Hospitality Management Qualification or similar
• At least 2 years’ experience as a Reservationist, preferably for multi-property sites
• Excellent Computer Literacy Skills with MSOffice and a typing speed of at least 60 wpm
• Experience in preparing quotes, letters of confirmations etc
• Experience on a recognised Hotel Property Management System
• Hands on Problem Solving approach and the ability to remain calm under pressure
• Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently
• Great attention to detail and sound financial acumen
• Presentable and well spoken
• Self Motivated
• Excellent telephone manner
• Team Player
• Ability to work shifts, weekends and overtime
• Prepared to work shifts at hotel level as and when required

Responsibilities

• Respond to communications from guests, travel agents, groups and referral networks concerning Reservations queries arriving by mail, telephone, fax, or through a central reservation system.
• Coordinate all reservations, create and maintain reservation records, prepare and send invoices and confirmations and promptly process any cancellations and modifications.
• Follow up on enquiries and getting payment.
