Job summary

Amana Living is seeking a Kitchenhand for James Brown Care Centre in Osborne Park. This part-time role focuses on preparing meals, keeping the kitchen tidy, and supporting residents with warmth and care to create a home-like atmosphere.

You will work 31 hours per fortnight across a set rotating schedule, with an induction at the Rivervale Training Institute and necessary clearances to ensure safe, compliant service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Current Flu vaccination evidence
  • National Police Clearance (within 6 months)
  • Pre-employment medical and reference checks
  • NDIS clearance (or willingness to obtain)
  • Proven organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to attend 1 day paid induction at Rivervale Training Institute

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and plate meals; serve and clear meals in line with schedules.
  • Maintain kitchen and serving areas to state hygiene standards.
  • Interact with residents in line with organisational values.
  • Consider resident lifestyles and personal choice.
  • Maintain effective interpersonal relationships with others.
  • Record weekly temperature and cleaning records for manager review.
  • Note dietary changes on master printout.
  • Monitor stock requirements and replenish as needed.
  • Assist with replenishment of shopping supplies as required.

Job description

The Position

Based at James Brown Care Centre in Osborne Park, your role as a Kitchenhand is more than just preparing meals, it’s about bringing warmth and care to our residents through food. By keeping the kitchen organised and supporting meal preparation, you’ll help create moments of comfort and joy that truly makes it feel like home. This is a part time role offering 31 hours per fortnight.

Week 1 & 2

Tuesday: 15:30-18:30

Wednesday: 15:30-18:30

Friday: 07:00-14:00 and 15:30-18:30

Please note you will need to able to commit to all shifts to be considered*

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and plate food, serve and clear away meals in line with food preparation schedules.
  • Maintain the food preparation and serving areas to state hygiene standards.
  • Maintain appropriate resident interactions in line with the organizational values.
  • Consider resident lifestyles and personal choice.
  • Maintain effective interpersonal relationships with others.
  • Collect all temperature and cleaning records for the week and place in managers basket for checking and signing.
  • Record any dietary changes on master print out.
  • Check on stock requirements, e.g. bread, milk, OJ, yoghurt and change as necessary.
  • As required replenish shopping supplies which are specific and not currently available from usual supplier.
Essential Criteria
  • Evidence of Current Flu vaccination per Amana Living policies
  • Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance (within 6-months validity)
