Job summary

Fidelity Services Group (Pty) Ltd is seeking a Collections Officer to telephonically contact clients with overdue amounts and drive swift settlement in a high-volume environment.

The role focuses on recording notes in the Listener system, ensuring the prescribed number of collection calls daily, and coordinating with internal teams to resolve queries and escalate where necessary. You will contribute to reducing bad debt expense and improve DSO.

Qualifications

• Matric or equivalent.
• Credit management or finance qualification.
• 2-3 years collections experience in a high-volume consumer environment.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office & Excel.
• Working knowledge of LSN and SAP.
• Strong people & communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Telephonically contact clients with due or overdue amounts to obtain payment for arrears.
• Accurately record notes in the Listener system from outbound calls.
• Ensure the minimum number of prescribed collection calls are achieved daily.
• Capture debit order resubmissions in the Listener system.
• Verify client information in the Listener system when contacting clients.
• Obtain commitment from clients to settle overdue accounts quickly.
• Follow up on client payment commitments.
• Issue letters of demand and suspensions per collection policy.
• Review regional suspense accounts daily to identify and allocate payments correctly.
• Understand and communicate company and collection policies to clients.
• Forward queries to relevant departments and ensure timely resolutions.
