Job summary

Transnet NPA in Richards Bay seeks a Helicopter Night Captain to lead day and night flight operations, ensuring safety and compliance for crew and passengers. You will command complex missions under varying weather and sea conditions and oversee hoisting operations from vessels.

The role requires ATPL-H, Night and Instrument Ratings with extensive turbine/helicopter experience. Expect high responsibility, solid SOP adherence, and performance under pressure.

Qualifications

• ATPL-H, Night Rating, Instrument Rating and Winching Rating are required.
• Total flight hours: 2200; turbine hours 1200; multi-engine 700; A109 250.
• Minimum 5 years in related helicopter operations with TNPA context.

Responsibilities

• Command the helicopter for day and night operations per TNPA procedures.
• Maintain safety and management of crew and passengers; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Perform hoisting safety, navigation in IMC, and instrument-based landings when needed.
• Lead multi-crew cockpit and manage in-flight emergencies to safe outcomes.
• Adhere to SACAA CARs 91.02.7, 91.02.8 and TNPA SOPs.
