Placements24 is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic in Upington to maintain a diverse fleet across construction, mining, and agriculture.

You will diagnose, repair, and service hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems, perform preventative maintenance, and keep meticulous records.

The role offers on-site work with opportunities for overtime and ongoing training; company provides tools and safety equipment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic with diverse brands.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Trade certifications (diesel, hydraulics) highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on excavators, loaders, dozers.
• Diagnose and repair faults in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Inspect wear and tear and recommend repairs or replacements.
• Use diagnostic tools and manufacturer software to troubleshoot issues.
• Keep detailed maintenance records of parts and labor.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards.
