Job summary

Medscheme is seeking a Senior Data Analyst/Engineer to stabilise and enhance a tactical reporting solution within a POPIA-sensitive healthcare data environment in Johannesburg. The role blends data engineering, BI development and data analysis to support initial production reporting cycles.

You will work across Oracle, SQL and Power BI, collaborating with business users to translate requirements into practical data solutions and automated processes while helping to deliver the future-state MVP.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Oracle Database and SQL.
• Ability to profile data, identify quality issues and reconcile data.
• Translate business requirements into reporting solutions.
• Participate in UAT, QA and production reporting support.

Responsibilities

• Stabilise and improve the tactical reporting solution post go-live.
• Reduce manual data preparation and reporting effort.
• Resolve data and reporting issues during early production cycles.
• Support transition toward Power BI reporting environment.
• Automate validation and reconciliation controls where possible.
• Engage with business users to understand reporting requirements.
• Deliver comprehensive documentation of data flows and processes.
• Ensure reporting stability during the transition to the future-state solution.
