Job summary

Blue Pearl HQ in Johannesburg is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead a greenfield data platform initiative in healthcare and medical scheme administration, blending legacy Oracle/SAP/BO/SAS with modern cloud data technologies.

You will own delivery end-to-end from discovery to implementation in a highly autonomous role, focusing on automation, data quality, governance, and self-service analytics with Power BI, Snowflake and AWS.

Qualifications

• Experience with legacy data landscapes (Oracle, SAP BO, SAS) and modern cloud platforms (AWS, Snowflake).
• Strong SQL and ETL development and data quality assurance experience.
• Ability to design and implement automated data workflows and governance controls.

Responsibilities

• Own discovery, assessment and end-to-end delivery of data platform initiatives.
• Lead reporting rationalisation, automation and self-service analytics initiatives.
• Develop reusable data assets and data products for governed Power BI usage.
