Job summary

Ringway Infrastructure Services is seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor to join the Kent contract team. This is a hands-on, site-focused role supporting operational teams across multiple depots and work locations.

You will play a key role in driving a positive safety culture, coaching supervisors and managers, and ensuring that work is delivered safely, efficiently and in line with company and legislative requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in Health & Safety roles within highways, civil engineering, infrastructure or similar environments.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Experience conducting site audits, inspections and compliance monitoring.

Responsibilities

Job description

Ringway Infrastructure Services is looking for an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor to join our Kent contract team.

This is a hands-on, site-focused position supporting operational teams across multiple depots and work locations. You'll play a key role in driving a positive safety culture, coaching supervisors and managers, and ensuring that work is delivered safely, efficiently and in line with company and legislative requirements.

Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, you will work closely with Operations Managers, supervisors and site teams, providing practical HSE support across the Kent contract. The role is predominantly site based, requiring regular travel across operational locations throughout the region.

Duties

• Conducting site inspections, audits and compliance reviews.
• Supporting supervisors and managers with risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
• Coaching and mentoring operational teams to improve health and safety performance.
• Identifying areas for improvement and driving corrective actions.
• Monitoring compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
• Investigating incidents and supporting root cause analysis where required.
• Producing reports, safety data and performance information.
• Building strong working relationships with operational leadership teams and key stakeholders.
• Promoting a proactive safety culture across all work activities.

Person Specification

• Previous experience in a Health & Safety Advisor position.
• Experience within highways, civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities or a similar operational environment.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practice.
• Experience undertaking site audits, inspections and compliance monitoring.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to work independently across multiple sites.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach to health, safety and environmental management.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Essential Qualifications

• NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.

Desirable Qualifications

• IOSH Membership.
• Temporary Works Coordinator.
• CDM experience.
• Incident Investigation training.";
