Placements24 is seeking a talented and creative Lead Social Media and Community Manager to spearhead online engagement and social media strategy. This fully remote role is based in the vibrant digital landscape of South Africa and offers the opportunity to shape brand narratives across all digital touchpoints.

You will develop campaigns, manage communities, grow profiles, and collaborate with marketing, PR, and product teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in social media management, preferably in remote settings.
• Proven success in developing and executing social media strategies that drive engagement and growth.
• Proficient with social media management tools (Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social) and analytics platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong content creation abilities.
• Strong understanding of platform algorithms and audience demographics.
• Experience in building and managing online communities with a customer-centric approach.
• Creative thinking and a strong visual eye for content creation.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
• Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable strategies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy.
• Manage and grow all company social media profiles across platforms.
• Create, curate, and schedule engaging content (text, images, videos).
• Monitor channels for industry trends, feedback, and opportunities.
• Foster and nurture online communities; respond to comments promptly.
• Develop and execute community engagement initiatives and campaigns.
• Analyze performance metrics and provide reports with insights and recommendations.
• Collaborate with marketing, PR, and product teams for consistent messaging.
• Manage influencer outreach and collaborations to expand reach.
